HOOHAH! I’m an Armor guy as well, albeit basically out right now. (IRR-
new job, and don’t have the time to put in right now.) Have you been
through Knox yet?

Don’t know about computer games so much- I haven’t seen that many decent
tank based games for the Mac. If you have a PC, look up an old MicroProse
game called _M1 Tank Platoon_. It’s not a bad program, although the AI’s
dumb as dirt.
Here’s an off the wall suggestion: Havoc, by Reality Bytes. It features
tank like cars on a fairly realistic playing surface and networking: if
you get together some friends, you could spend a lot of time practicing a
lot of the formations and small unit strategy.
There are a number of good board games. Try Firepower by AH for a modern
single person game, although tanks move so fast and are so powerful on the
small boards that they’re difficult to play.
Squad Leader is a good WWII game- the tactics haven’t changed that much
yet, although the ranges and power of weapons has increased dramatically.
Warning: the game is a monster to learn and fairly expensive.
ObAdvice: Assuming that you just got branched, a quick note on stuff to
learn. Nothing, but nothing, is as important as learning mounted land
nav. Compasses and pace counts are meaningless here. Terrain association
is _everything_. Read maps: learn maps: feel maps: love maps. Being able
to know where you are, where you need to go, and how to do it is
_critical_, not only in wartime, but in terms of ridiculing new LTs. OTOH,
being able to get from point A to point B quickly without getting lost is
the first step towards getting the grizzled old SGTs to take you
seriously.
