Strategy planning games on the Macintosh

AG Update 1.01 is available

The following is the exact ReadMe comes with the AG 1.01 update.  Good
news is it’s finally out and it makes AG better–bad news is we have to
wait for another update before the PBEM bugs would be fixed… But hey, at
least they are working on it.  I don’t think anyone should complain
again…

Oh, for those of you doesn’t know the SSI homepage:
http://www.ssionline.com/

It’d be great if someone could put it on some ftp sites.  Otherwise the
SSI page would be overloaded.(?)

AG 1.01
Allied General 1.01 changes:

* Auto-scroll: When the mouse reaches the edge of the mainplay window, the
map scrolls in the appropriate direction.  Has an on/off option.

* Battle Results Delay.  Added  ’Slow Battle Results’  to Game menu.

This is an INTERIM patch of AG Mac. Version 1.1 of AG should be available
by the end of February 1996. V1.1 will address email and campaign/victory
condition bugs.

Thank you for your patience.

What about the senario editor? I remeber an article from CGW saying that this
is one of the features of AG, but it is not in version 1.0.

There isn’t a scenario editor in the Allied General release, but there is an
editor available that Matt Hills of Stanford worked up. It is currently in version
1.03; it allows editing of unit strengths, capability, etc. It doesn’t allow editing
of the map. It should be available at the various Mac sites. It is called AGadc {Allied
    General Aide-de-Camp.}

Just to add a few more points regarding AGade.  It allows you to edit
prestige points, number of core/aux units, unit
type/experience/transport/data base, location of each unit when the
scenario begins.  Matt says future version of AGadc would allow users to
edit the map. The following is Matt’s homepage http:

If you downloaded version 1.03, don’t forget to check out the About… screen.
